Boris Yellnikoff (Larry David) is a lifelong New Yorker who will rant and rave about religion, relationships, and anything else he can think of to anyone within hearing range. When he meets runaway Melodie St. Ann Celestine (Evan Rachel Wood) from Mississippi and allows her to live in his apartment, things begin to change for both Boris and Melodie. While Boris tries to mold Melodie to have the same beliefs and ideologies as him, Melodie gives Boris some comfort of her own, in the form of crawfish and Fred Astaire movies. When Melodie's parents come to New York to bring her back home, Boris and Melodie will discover how much they mean to one another.
