Louise (Meg Ryan), a successful attorney in Manhattan, on her arrival to her house for the weekend, learns that her husband, Ian (Timothy Hutton) is expecting not her, but his much younger girlfriend, Sara (Kristen Bell). Actually, he is about to write Louise a letter explaining his plan to leave her. However, Louise makes him confined in a toilet and declines to set him free until he obliges to continue their wedlock. When Sara and a gardener, Todd (Justin Long) appear there, things get complicated. As some burglars break into their house, there are further complications and dramatic and unexpected happenings.
