25 years old Rebecca Bloomwood (Isla Fisher) graduates from college and is struggling to fulfill her dreams. She ends up in New York where she dreams to live the life that she always wanted, living in an apartment with her best friend. However, things doesn’t seem to go as planned. Eventually she manages to get a job at a financial magazine, but it’s not enough to cover her dependence of shopping. As bills increase, Becky must find a way to make money. Things start to work out when she discovers a subject in which she invests a lot of time. The article becomes very popular overnight, transforming Becky into a celebrity and getting the admiration of her boss Luke Brandon (Hugh Dancy). Her shopping addiction and debts that are still growing threat to destroy her career and her love life, leaving Becky to realize that she has to reassess priorities.
