Bobby Bartellemeo (Richard Dreyfuss) is the head of a group of aging criminals. Bats Pistella (Burt Reynolds) wants to go out in a big way. Brick Donatelli (Dan Hedaya) labors in a morgue. Mouth Donato (Seymour Cassell) is handy with the women, but his cohorts believe he is mute. The gang gets caught up in a plan to save their retirement living spaces in a hotel by instilling fear in the local housing developers, but the law enforcement gets suspicious. Detective Neal (Carrie-Anne Moss) and her partner and former lover Steve Menteer (Jeremy Piven) must examine the residence in question, while Donato wants to get rid of his lover Ferris’s (Jennifer Tilly) stepmother, Pepper Lowenstein (Lainie Kazan).
