“Il Y A Longtemps Que Je T'aimeis”, is a film about a woman, Juliette (Kristin Scott Thompson) who has been released from prison after a 15-year sentence for the murder of her son. Juliette is taken in by her younger sister, Lea (Elsa Zylberstein), her husband named Luc (Serge Hazanavicius) and their two adopted daughters. Juliette then becomes lost within the confines of her mind as she attempts to leave the inescapable remnants of her sordid past behind. She transforms into a lifeless being, caught within a kind of moral purgatory, who is seemingly content with her meager existence. Juliette is the embodiment of her haunted mental state, becoming emaciated in both body and mind.
