"Elegy" is a drama that explores the love relationship between David Kepesh (Ben Kingsley), a sexagenarian cultural critic and professor at a university in New York and Consuela Castillo (Penelope Cruz), a shy student of Cuban origin. David Kepesh is a womanizer, famous for the many adventures with former students, but has never allowed a woman to be much closer and get to his soul. His life changes completely when he meets Consuela Castillo. David's need to constantly be around the young woman becomes an obsession.
